Week 15

Appointments:

I met with Sandra, the midwife, and her assistant and have decided to have a water home birth. I did have an OB appointment this week. We did blood work and a full body check. The babies heartbeat was in the 140's and they also did an ultrasound. According to the 14 week ultrasound the baby is a boy, but we will see for sure once we get closer to 20 weeks.

Next Appointments:
OB appointment for another ultrasound and some DNA testing - May 15
Midwife will be coming to my house for checkup - May 15

Symptoms:

So far this pregnancy has been quit different from my first. This time my morning sickness doesn't seem to want to go away. I also have terrible insomnia and don't seem to be getting much sleep now days.

Weight Gain:
I am now 10 lbs. above pre pregnancy weight.

Big Announcement

So I have some big news. We are having another baby. We have told family and friends and just a little while ago we announced on Facebook. Here is our announcement:

I was super nervous at first because Warren and his brother or sister will only be a little over a year apart. After a little thinking and talking with others I think the difference in age will be good. We are getting more and more excited about this bay as the days go by.

We have recently made some big decisions about this pregnancy and baby. I had a wonderful hospital birth with Warren. I was induced at 39 weeks and my labor was fairly easy. I did end up with an epidural, but all together it was a great experience and I don't regret any of it. This time I would like to have a more intimate pregnancy and birth, so I have decided to go with a midwife and have a home birth. We are on the search now for a midwife in our area and can't wait to get this process going. I will start blogging about the process and experience as well as life in general still, I just haven't decided how I am going to do it yet.

As of this week:

Trimester: 2nd
Week: 14
Baby is the size of a navel orange (4.5 in., 2 to 3 oz)
Weeks left: 25

I have an OB appointment tomorrow along with a meeting with our first midwife.

We haven't starting talking about baby names yet and probably won't until we find out gender

So far I haven't really had any cravings, but occasionally I will want something out of the ordinary. Usually that is just Taco Bell.

I have had terrible morning sickness and it doesn't seem to want to go away just yet, but I am hoping for it to get better the further into the second trimester I get.

So far I have gained approximately 10 pounds.

I haven't taken any belly photos yet, but I will start this week and can't wait to compare them to my pregnancy with Warren.

Life and blogging

So it has been a long time since I have blogged. I have lots of fun stuff going on in life and figured now would be a good time to start a new blog. I have some fun news for later this week, but lets get started with where life is right now.

So I am currently a wife and the mother of a 19 month old son, Warren. He pretty much consumes my life. My husband and I have been together for almost 5 years now. We got married on the fun date of 11/11/11, hopefully we can both remember that one. I have been on and off working, but I recently quit my job and have decided to be a stay at home mom for a while. I am currently in school for my medical assisting degree. Hopefully one day I will be able to finish college, lol.

I have had a long journey with college. I graduated high school a year early and moved here to Austin, TX. I started going to school for Sign Language Interpreting. I had a few life interruptions, but I am almost done with my associates degree for that. I only have my internship left and I am hoping to finish that up soon. I recently started attending school for medical assisting because I realized that while Interpreting is a passion of mine, it isn't something that will be a full time, year round job. I know there is need for medical assistants and since I love math and numbers and doing data entry or computer work, I decided to go into medical assisting, hoping to do data entry.

I recently opened my own business. It is getting a slow start, but with the way life has been going, I'm kind of happy about it. Now that I am a stay at home mom again, I am hoping to start really concentrating on it. It all started when Warren was really young and I started to use cloth diapers with him. Then one day my husband had a whole in his favorite pants and wanted it patched up. He pulled out his old sewing machine and we just couldn't get it going. So he took me to the store and bought me a new sewing machine. I fell in love with sewing again and wanted to do it all the time. I have started off small, making things for us around the house and a few cloth diapers for my son, but I am hoping it takes off as a business and I can do what I love.

My goal is to keep this blog updated as it is stress reliever for me and it is a great way to keep up with life. I am going to try to stick to my goal and post at least once a week, even if it is a really short post. Maybe later this week I will take some pictures of some of the stuff I have made for my house and family and post them here....

There is also so exciting news to come.....
